Will Evans jewellery
Will Evans started his jewellery career as an apprentice to a master-blacksmith and now works to commission making jewellery incorporating fine gold inlay. Due to the nature of inlay techniques much of Wills work has a linear feel to it. Will enjoys the contrast of colour inlay can create and incorporating mathematical proportions into his pieces when appropriate. The inlay process also naturally lends itself to exploring the visual interplay between line and form within a piece. Although some of the forms can be unusual Will believes in keeping his jewellery wearable and enjoys seeing a piece come to life when it adorns the body.
Will Evans recently completed a brooch for the Goldsmith Company’s collection, The piece is a deconstruction of a traditional diamond spray corsage (as worn by Empress Josephine in the1800s). The brooch is a key piece for Will aesthetically and technically, breaking away from purely linear inlay, with the introduction of inlaid areas.
The majority of Will's pieces are made to commission and he is available to discuss any requirements you may have and to produce design drawings for special pieces taking these requirements into account.
